David Crabb, M.D., visits “Sound Medicine” to discuss why all baby boomers should get tested for hepatitis C. Baby boomers account for three-fourths of all hepatitis C cases in the U.S. Dr. Crabb also recommends that those who inject drugs or share needles get tested as well. The screening is a simple blood test, and hepatitis C now it can be cured 70 to 80 percent of the time. If left untreated, hepatitis C can lead to liver disease and damage.
