AMA Calls For Ban On Rx Drug Ads

The U.S. is  one of only two countries in the world that allow prescription drug companies to advertise directly to consumers. In a statement issued Tuesday, the American Medical Association called for a ban on such ads, claiming that advertising drives up the costs of prescription medications, as the Verge reports.
