In 2013, an estimated 19,000 Americans had bariatric surgery, a catch-all term used to describe procedures that help people lose weight. These surgeries have been around for decades, but recently, a study from the University of Michigan suggests that one type of bariatric surgery is rising in popularity among the others. Dr. SohrabKhandelwal of the University of Washington explains.
