Why We Should Take Nutrition Research With A Grain Of Salt

After a review of the research connecting red meats and processed meats to cancer, a group of WHO researchers published their findings today. Their conclusions: processed meats cause cancer, and red meats are "probably carcinogenic." A few weeks ago, honey-lovers were disappointed when a studydemonstrated that Poo Bear's favorite snack is no better for us than sugar, or even high-fructose corn syrup. But Aaron Carroll, professor of pediatrics at Indiana University and writer for the New York Times' policy blog The Upshot says the honey study -and most nutrition research - is flawed.
