In September, “Sound Medicine” health care policy analyst Aaron Carroll, M.D., M.S., wrote an article for Bloomberg about Pennsylvania State University's newly adopted corporate wellness program that modified its existing insurance plans. Many businesses across the country are also buying into what Dr. Carroll describes as the false sense of hope that wellness programs promise. Dr. Carroll is an associate professor of pediatrics and the associate director of Children’s Health Services Research at Indiana University School of Medicine. He is also the director of the Center for Health Policy and Professionalism Research.
