Sandy Roob is a contributing reporter with Sound Medicine and writes the health and fitness segments called “Help Yourself.” Prior to working with the program, Roob spent a decade as the host of “IU Update” that aired during IU Men’s televised basketball games. During that time she also worked as a media specialist at IUPUI and was responsible for overseeing media coverage for the School of Nursing and other university programs. Roob, an award-winning journalist, began her career as a television news reporter at WNDU in South Bend, Ind., where she wrote a documentary, numerous news series, and anchored the news. She has a Communications degree from DePauw University and a Master’s in Journalism from Indiana University.

NPR correspondent Chris Arnold is based in Boston. His reports are heard regularly on NPR's award-winning newsmagazines Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Weekend Edition. He joined NPR in 1996 and was based in San Francisco before moving to Boston in 2001.

Jennifer Wing is an on-call reporter and news host for KPLU. She’s from Philadelphia, but has been living in the Northwest for well over a decade. Jennifer has had many memorable KPLU radio moments over the years, but one that sticks with her is being allowed to watch a young man struggle to learn how to read. Jennifer says, “He'd made it all the way through middle school and most of high school not knowing how. He finally fell into the hands of some adults who cared enough to give him the time and attention he needed.”

Anya Kamenetz is an education correspondent at NPR. She joined NPR in 2014, working as part of a new initiative to coordinate on-air and online coverage of learning. Since then the NPR Ed team has won a 2017 Edward R. Murrow Award for Innovation, and a 2015 National Award for Education Reporting for the multimedia national collaboration, the Grad Rates project.

Award-winning journalist Patti Neighmond is NPR's health policy correspondent. Her reports air regularly on NPR newsmagazines All Things Considered, Morning Edition, and Weekend Edition.

Dr. Aaron Carroll, a professor of pediatrics and the assistant dean for Research Mentoring at the Indiana University School of Medicine, often joins the Sound Medicine program to speak on health policy.
