McFarland says his grandmother relies on family members to take to the grocery store when she needs fresh food. While she has a good support system, he says, it still robs her from some of her independence. The two guys think the new grocery store will be a great help for many. Being the owners of the new store and part of the community at the same time, they say they have a vested interest in keeping it open and successful unlike other big-box store “that have hundreds of chain they can dispose of,” McFarland says.
